The Art of Flora Art

"Flora Art" the world's newest and most amazing art form, created using fresh and natural blossoms like Hibiscus, Orchids, Lady Lacd, Wild Sunflowers, Carnations, Holy Hocks, Cornflowers, Ferns, Grasses, hand picked in the peak of their glory and preserved in an exquisite flower arrangement through the technique called "potting" to remain for a lifetime. The blossoms freshness and its color remain forever with the help of a resin, invented by Dr. Hiran Abeysinghe in Sri Lanka. First the flowers and grasses are given an anti-fungal treatment and then placed on a layout already designed. The resin is then applied to each flower and grass individually in a very delicate manner. This intricate process is carried out under Infra Red Light to facilitate chemical reactions. The resin used for the patented process is manufactured exclusively for this company by the BASF in Germany.

The process having been completed, it is then exposed to sunlight to form a thin sheet like lamination embedding within them the designed blossoms. This is then pressed in between two sheets of fibreglass, vaccumized, sealed and then framed to form the most unique and exotic wall plaques. The transparent fibreglass and the crinkled fibreglass used in the front and the rear of the picture are specially made in Belgium.

The coarse fibre used for the frames are manufactured in Australia.
